Let's see, so what all has happened of importance since I last blogged? We did go and see Colin's aunt and uncle in Minnesota, Jay and Renee. We enjoyed are time with them, and made a short trip to the mall of America to see the aquarium with Finnigan.
Since the last time I blogged, Colin has left his customer service job at Nationwide, for a job that he is more happy with - as a home equity underwriter for Wells Fargo. It was kind of an amusing story, because he left in the middle of the work day, but had a job before he came home to tell me that. I am happy to see him more happy when he gets home from work now.
And I started playing Magic The Gathering, which I really enjoy. Although I have lately abandoned it, partly because of computer games on Facebook, partly because Walking Dead - my husband's favorite show is back on during sunday nights, when we would usually play. I will pick it up again in spurts, I am sure.
The last time I posted Finn was trying to crawl. At Five Months he was scooting around enough that he could get where he wanted to go, but wasn't quite making it up on his knees: and he was able to stay sitting up if I put him that way.
On Finn's six Months birthday we got family pictures, which was fun:
And by his six month birthday he was a pro at it crawling, and able to sit up by himself. In October he started pulling himself up to his feet, and we fear he will be walking soon. It's already so much work to keep up with him, so we know the fun is only just beginning!
In September we celebrated not only Finn's half birthday, but our 1 year anniversary as well. Finnigan perhaps enjoyed my present from Colin more than I did!
Seven Months!
For Halloween, Finnigan was a pirate!
We didn't take any pictures on Thanksgiving, unfortunately. I work nights at the County Hospital here in Des Moines, and I had to work a 12 hour shift the night before, and the night after Thanksgiving and most of Colin's family was in Denver meeting his new newphew, and everyone in my family had plans with friends, and girlfriends, so Colin, Finn and I met Colin's grandmother at a Buffet Restaurant and we had our diner there on my way to work. Finnigan loves to eat, and he loves to eat many different kinds of foods at once, so it might have been his favorite day of life so far. He just turned his head from left to right over and over again eating from both Mommy and Daddy's plates. It was very amusing, as he often is. I hope he always remains such a good eater! Whenever the microwave comes on, he rushes to hang out in the kitchen in front of it, awaiting whatever goodies pop out. And if anyone opens the fridge, he will try to climb inside, and rip food off the shelves. Nothing in life gets him quite as excited as food!
Perhaps the only thing this baby likes to do as much as he loves to eat, is laugh! One of the things I love about Finn is his ability to make everyone feel special. Everyone always gets a kick out of the fact that he smiles, and laughs at them so easily, they think that he likes them, or they are SO good with babies, but really he is just super easy to get to crack up. If I make a noise or turn my head real fast, or look at him funny he will crack up.
Love, love, love this baby.
