One of my friends has a baby who is 9 months old, and she let us borrow her jumper, which Finnigan really likes. A lot more than the bouncer that I had bought him that he is already bored with.
As a nurse, I know all of the risk factors for SIDS and I stress about it endlessly, even though I know that SIDS is pretty rare, and especially when the child doesn't have other risk factors. I don't smoke, I breast feed, there isn't anything in his crib, I don't co-sleep, ect. And Finn has luckily been compliant with sleeping on his back. Until now. He has started automatically rolling onto his tummy and trying to crawl when placed on his back, even when we place him in the crib. No matter how many times I flip him back over onto his back or side, he ends back up on his face. So we just bought an apnea monitor, or I believe I will never sleep again! The soft light is on in his room, and I keep listening for breathing, and checking in on him continuously.
He wants to be mobile, and gets so frustrated that he cannot GO yet.

I took Finnigan to the doctor for his well baby check up and immunizations. He was great with the shots, cried for a minute, but was consolable and didn't have any issues the rest of the day. However, he was 13 pounds, 10 oz, which is 10th percentile. He was 58th percentile when he was born, so I freaked out a little bit again about his weight. I started pumping and bottle feeding for 24 hours so I could measure how much breast milk he is getting and it is around 40-50 oz in a 24 hour period. I called the lactation specialist and she laughed at me. She said, if your 4 11 why are you expecting to have a big baby? And, she said he is getting plenty of milk and reassured me that I do not need to supplement. He's healthy, he's meeting his milestones, and then some. She also offered weekly use of the baby scale there at the hospital, which I quickly declined! =)
