We have bought a house, moved my mom and brother in downstairs, gone to Denver, gone to Chicago, been sealed in the Nauvoo temple, seen three family members through major surgeries, (my mom, Colin's grandma, and Nathan) and took Finn to his first Iowa State Fair, first parade, and first trip to Adventureland. Now that the hottest days of this very mild summer are behind us, we can look forward to the fall and the holiday season that is almost upon us.
Finnigan really enjoyed his first parade. Mostly, the music and dancing portions. =)
We were too busy having fun at Adventureland to really take any pictures on the inside, but I did snap one of Finn in his hat and sun glasses on the way in. Finn really enjoyed the water park portion of the trip, mostly the splash pad toddler area and the lazy river. Have I mentioned how much this kid likes water?
Mommy bought Finn a water table and a climber slide this summer as well. He prefers the water table. =)
And, as Always, Finnigan loves to eat and hates to sit. Here is proof of both.

Let' see what else important is happening?
After my mother's knee replacement surgery, she has been unable to watch Finn until she heals - so he has been going to a home daycare provider that his cousins go to. He has had a blast! So many new toys - including lots of cars and trucks and cars he can push and ride, which he loves. However, he hasn't been napping and it has messed up his nap schedule, so hopefully my mother heals fast, haha. She has been missing watching Finn, I know, and wants me to let her babysit him again right now. However, I still think it's still too soon. Yesterday grocery shopping wore her out, and she was in one of those motorized carts. Finn is not exactly a laid-back kid. He's like a blender without a lid on it - let's just be honest. So that worries me.
Finn was finally unleashed on nursery this Sunday at church, so Colin and I were actually able to attend all of our meetings without having to wrestle an alligator out in the hallway, who is tired of being contained, and just wants to be free. Now he has a contained classroom with toys and playmates to run around in, and I was actually able to attend relief society for the first time in a year, and bear my testimony! It was the smoothest church has gone in 18 months, that is for sure.
I have applied for graduate school to get my masters in nursing education, Nathan received his calling to be a mission in San Jose, California for the next two years, and I am applying for daytime jobs so I can have enough energy to be a full time mom, wife, nurse and student. Wish me luck!
You are the best! How is your hand?
ReplyDeleteIt feels fine, I really have to mash it or extend it in the wrong way now for it to hurt.
