I got the phone call while I was waiting for my Doctor for my follow up OB appointment, and of course he finally walks in while I am on the phone! I had to ask him to come back because I was on an important call. I hate when patients do that to me, but he seemed to understand, and I apologized profusely!
Once we finally get a waiver - if and when that occurs - we can get OT and ST too, but I am excited to finally be able to start therapy! It is an answer to our prayers to get intensive 1:1 intervention for our sweet boy. I was working with him before I had the baby, and we have seen profound improvement - but I haven't had the time he deserves since Addy came home.
I am going to call The Homestead while Finn is in school tomorrow to see when we can get started!
Also, I took Finn for his physical for school today. I got the questionnaire all parent's get about their child's development. I checked "no" that Finn wasn't speaking in 2-4 word sentences. Then the kid proved me a liar. The Doctor asked what was new, and I said Finn started preschool. Finn came up to me, looked at me in the face and said, very excitedly, "I start school!" Then he said. "Want home," and "Bye-Bye see you soon!"
He's talking more and more every day!
Finn had so much fun at the playground in Ankeny for his birthday that I tried again to take him yesterday, but I also took Addy - and it was a terrible idea! The reason why he had so much fun this weekend is because he was around family, and it was a private party, and my family passed around the baby so Finn had my full attention most of the time, and I could go down the slides with him. With ten times the kids running around, he was immediately sensory overloaded, and wouldn't do anything but run around in circles. He kept trying to get me to go down the slides with him, but I couldn't because I had the baby - so he would throw a tantrum. After like tantrum 989789707000 I gave up and took him home. We will try again, but I will be bringing either my brother or Colin so that they can help with the baby, and we will probably go earlier in the morning before it gets too crazy busy.
